Oyra Local Index
Badges you earn, not buy
The Oyra Local Index shows what makes a Fleetwood business local, in plain words. Each badge says exactly what it means and we only give it when we've seen the evidence.
Local, regional and UK-made
We keep these separate, so you always know what a badge really means:
Local: Fleetwood and Wyre.
Regional: Lancashire and the North West.
UK-made: made in the UK.
Product badges always name the actual product, like coffee beans or jam. A single local product never turns into a claim about the whole menu.
1. Ownership
Owned and run by the people behind the counter, not part of a chain or franchise.
Evidence: Owner confirmation plus an Oyra visit; Companies House check where relevant.
Example: Dickson's Coffee Co., Phone World
The owner lives in Fleetwood or Wyre.
Evidence: Owner confirmation, checked on an Oyra visit.

The rules
- Badges can't be bought. Paying for Oyra doesn't get you a badge.
- Every badge is explained, so you know exactly what it means.
- Evidence is checked before a badge goes up, and reviewed from time to time.
- Businesses can challenge a badge or ask for a review through our contact form.
- No negative badges. If something isn't proven yet, there's simply no badge.
- Chains are assessed honestly. They can earn badges they genuinely meet, but not ownership or independent badges.
What's next
Once we have more businesses listed, we plan to add a score out of 100 across these six areas, with every point explained.
